In light of the Covid-19 virus, we are now offering online seniors and pilates classes from the clinic directly to your home.
At Clinical Physio, there is no higher priority than ensuring our patients’ and staffs' safety and peace of mind. Amid the ever changing news around Coronavirus, we want to assure you that we are continually monitoring the situation and have constantly updated procedures in place which follow the Australian Government Department of Health guidelines to ensure the safety of our patients, staff and providers.
TO ENSURE THAT WE CAN CONTINUE TO PROVIDE TOP-LEVEL CARE TO PATIENTS, WE HAVE IMPLEMENTED THE FOLLOWING:
Our clinic has stringent cleaning and disinfection strategies which have been recently updated to include regular disinfecting of the front desk area, examination cubicles, the gym and all areas with direct patient access. We are also insisting on the use of gloves for anyone using the gym and the clinic has various stations for hand sanitising. Furthermore, all staff temperatures are checked twice daily.
We are urging patients to follow Australian Government Department of Health guidelines and to self-quarantine if they have travelled in the last 20 days, or are in close contact with someone who has and they’re experiencing a fever, sore throat and/or cough.
We will continue to actively monitor information about Coronavirus from the Australian Health Department and other public health agencies and provide updates through our website, emails and Facebook.
The Importance of Staying Active and Healthy
Whilst a lot of recent discussions have been around the direct effects of Covid-19, here in the clinic we have also been discussing the other side-effects of social distancing and self-isolation....the other pandemic that's quietly working away in the background.
It's nothing new, but perhaps the most deadly pandemic this century.... PHYSICAL INACTIVITY.
It’s especially important you do all you can to stay healthy – So being proactive about your health – while it may not prevent you from getting sick – can certainly help keep your body’s natural defences strong.
Physical inactivity is a leading cause of disease and disability worldwide and is estimated to be the cause of 1 in every 10 deaths.
A sedentary lifestyle increases the risk of all causes of mortality, double the risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and obesity, and increase the risks of colon cancer, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, lipid disorders, depression and anxiety.
With the cancellations of sporting events, trainings, games, gym and park closures and the enforcement of social distancing we're at a huge risk of the problem becoming much worse. Even though "essential gatherings" can still occur in health practices, for patient safety, we cancelled our daily seniors classes and have limited our pilates classes to 2 people per session.
The good news about this pandemic is that we can do something about this right now! And while the clinic continues to be open, we do realise that not all of our patients are able to attend so we have create online seniors classes and pilates classes to ensure that no one misses out.
